On May 18th, 2024, the second Yangzhou High Quality Development Conference for Hydrogen Energy Industry was grandly opened in Yangzhou Economic Development Zone, Jiangsu Province. The conference is hosted by the People's Government of Yangzhou City, focusing on the development of hydrogen energy technology and the extension of the industrial chain, discussing the "hydrogen" industry together, and seeking the future of "hydrogen", in order to promote the high-quality development of Yangzhou's hydrogen energy industry with greater efforts.
Yangzhou Releases Hydrogen Industry Plan
At present, there are 12 hydrogen energy enterprises in Yangzhou City, and a total investment of approximately 1.51 billion yuan is planned to start major hydrogen energy projects in 2024. This includes the Tianhe Yuan Hydrogen 1.5GW hydrogen production equipment project, which has completed the main roof sealing of the factory and entered the equipment entry and commissioning stage. It is expected to be put into operation by the end of July this year.
At the meeting, Lu Anya, Secretary of the Party Group and Director of the Yangzhou Development and Reform Commission, officially released the "Medium - and Long Term Plan for the Development of Yangzhou's Hydrogen Energy Industry", clarifying the two major phased goals of Yangzhou's hydrogen energy development, and proposing four key cultivation directions: "hydrogen production technology and equipment, hydrogen storage and transportation technology and equipment, fuel cell system and special scenario demonstration application".
Jointly establish the Hydrogen Industry Research Institute
At the conference, hydrogen industry experts and entrepreneurs from all over the country witnessed the launch ceremony of the Tianhe Yuan Hydrogen Yangzhou Hydrogen Industry Research Institute and the launch of the Yangzhou Hydrogen Industry Development Alliance initiative.
The Hydrogen Industry Research Institute will focus on the collaboration of hydrogen technology industry, academia, and research, as well as the extension of the industrial chain, to promote the development of integrated technology for "light hydrogen storage". The research institute will provide strong technical support and talent guarantee for the development of Yangzhou's hydrogen energy industry.
The Hydrogen Energy Industry Development Alliance advocates for more upstream and downstream enterprises in Yangzhou's hydrogen energy industry to join, jointly promote close cooperation among enterprises in the industry chain, integrate resources from all parties, achieve information sharing and technological complementarity, and promote innovation in hydrogen energy production, storage, and transportation. The establishment of the alliance will collaborate with member units to deepen cooperation in key technological fields such as basic materials, electrolytic hydrogen production equipment, hydrogen fuel cells, power electronic system control, and downstream derivative applications of hydrogen energy.

Yangzhou Base Leading in Automation
At the meeting, Duan Shunwei, the General Manager of Tianhe Hydrogen, introduced the situation of the Yangzhou production base to everyone. The final assembly process of production determines the stability of the electrolytic cell products. Tianhe Yuanhydrogen strictly controls product quality and puts product safety first. It adopts the leading AGV fully automated production line in China, including automatic incoming material detection, machine frame refining, automated laser welding, automated electroplating production line, digital control, intelligent logistics, etc., with a leading level of automation and intelligence in the industry.
At the Yangzhou base, Tianhe Yuan Hydrogen will achieve full process and full process production of electrolytic cells. In addition, Tianhe Yuan Hydrogen will also build a hydrogen energy laboratory and continue to focus on key material research. At the same time, a 20MW factory testing platform is equipped to ensure that each equipment can undergo power on, gas production, and other tests before leaving the factory, ensuring the safe and stable operation of the equipment.
With the successful conclusion of this conference, the development of Yangzhou's hydrogen energy industry has taken a fast track. Organizations such as Yangzhou Hydrogen Industry Research Institute and Yangzhou Hydrogen Industry Development Alliance will collaborate with the government, universities, and enterprises to vigorously develop industry, academia, and research, and jointly promote the achievement of hydrogen development goals.
